This is a must-watch documentary series for anyone even remotely interested in design. In fact, if you’re inspired by the passion and backstory of creative people then this is the show for you.

Each episode of Abstract aims to take the viewer into the worldview of designers with very different backgrounds and who use different mediums to communicate with. Episode one follows illustrator Christoph Niemann and is an absolute joy to watch. Rather than just lots of talking heads spliced with images of his work there’s radical abstractions, animations of his work that jumps in and out of realtime footage and cheeky, almost meta, moments where the fourth wall is broken and it’s here that you really get a grasp of who he is which leads you to understand how he’s able to crate such wonderfully playful and clever illustrations.
